Announcing All Our Relations Sacred Gardening Blog- Journal

Yesterday I had a bit of a brainstorm (brainfart) and came up with the idea of creating a Sacred Gardening blog/journal/diary for 2009.

A group of us who study closely with the same Cherokee medicine woman are going to create a large group garden in her backyard in Maryland this year. We’ve already scheduled a big tilling, create the beds day for April 18th. Kinda an Amish garden raising party or more like Amish gardening digging party. Not sure if I want to see any gardens raising above my head.

Anywho, we’re already planning for it, buying seeds, thinking of the design that is going to facilitate the best energy flow to boost the plants etc. As a matter of fact, my teacher and I were toodling around yesterday morning after she dropped off her car to be fixed (A Jeep Cherokee, of course, a part of her tribe). And we came up with the design over breakfast at Friendly’s. Btw, we recommend Friendly’s because they give you crayons and blank sheets of cartoon characters to draw on. So we drew up the garden design on the back of the Scooby-Doo sheet with crayons. It was only right. (I’ll scan Scooby and the design in later to post here.)

But then we went to a Southern States store and ended up staying an hour after making fast friends with the manager. Not only did we buy onion sets, spinach, sunflowers and what else? Oh, curly kale — we wanted to get seeds and stuff that are early birds for planting… BUT the kind man there, John Evans, told us where we can go see goats locally, like 20 mins away in the Baltimore area. And he even drew us a map of not just one but two excellent Indian-Pakistani places down the road to get really fresh samosas (sp?) and spices.  That’s right. We’re going to plant samosas in our garden. Just kidding…

So anyway… Stay tuned… The gardening season is about to lift off or dig in. And we’re going to talk about ways to make this garden as sacred as possible, blow by blow, dig by dig, trowel by trowel, weed by weed.. you get it…

Wasn’t there a song: “Inch by Inch, Row by Row…?”

Samosa by Samosa…. ;~)

Signed an extremely excited Mare.

    HI de ho All,
Well Mare, got the pop up greenhouse pretty much cleaned out. Had a good time hanging with you yesterday too ohohohoho. You can keep all the “samosas” to yourself ohohohoho ya know I don’t like that type of food ohohoho. The more I think about it the more I like the design we came up with, I blame Scooby ohohoho. I just remembered why you asked me about pots the other day, No, I do not have any of those little pots to put my seeds in.
About the design, inside every square, rectangle, triangle and so forth, there is a circle ohohohohoho
    many blessings ttfn jas

  2. Well.. this is most excellent.

Jasmine, my Cherokee teacher has figured out how to get on WordPress and respond to my posting. You go, Jas!

I get to tease her because she is more of a Luddite or Neo-Luddite than I am, but can sometimes figure her way about the Internet and other assorted places. Not always with great ease (okay, yes, I ‘m really teasing you, Jas.. but you know it’s only because I love you so much… ;~)

So, I went to this party last night and told this guy there about the Sacred Gardening work that we’re doing and he mentioned Sacred Geometry. And Jas, it sounds like you’re already touching that.

Maybe we need to do a posting on CIRCLES and why they are such a significant shape… for gardens, for our planet, for our cells, etc etc.

    more to come… it’s time for a Scooby-Doo break. whoo-hoo..

Actually I want to do a posting on ‘Sacred’ – feeling pushed to do that.
