Harold’s Dandelion – poem by Mare

Harold's Dandelion (c) Harold Blum

[some background – Harold and I and a group of others are in a Sacred Gardening group on Facebook. Harold posted this photograph yesterday – he’s quite gifted, lives in Chicago and has been blessing us in that group with photos for more than a year – and I could feel the poem surfacing, and stated so. And folks started clamoring for the muse and so she came this am… rather quickly,  fun… ;~)  ]

Harold’s Dandelion

To sit on the stem

Of life poised for that gust

Of change that sweeps across the meadow

I sing with the wind to call her in

And jump with the tug of the ancient space

In my core that listens to more

Than the wind and the stones

And the flowers that Harold so gifts us

With here in the wee club of sacredness

Of buds and words and blooms that ring

Around the globe and tickle our joy with

Their openness and love

For an Earth that has forgotten what love

Feels like in this day of military strife

And mycelium of unrest in the streets

Stretching from East to West and points

Between the very seedheads of this one small

Weed that grows in the Midwest

That Harold found one sunny day with his

Gifted eye and blessed us here in the virtual

Community that knows Peace better.

  1. Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic however , I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog post or vice-versa? My blog addresses a lot of the same subjects as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other. If you happen to be interested feel free to send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! Superb blog by the way! <
