Aspiring to Mosaic

“A mosaic is a conversation between what is broken.”

I have just started reading Terry Tempest Williams‘ book “Finding Beauty in a Broken World.” She introduces the book by describing her mosaic art studies in Ravenna, Italy. I want to get on a plane right now and step into one of these classes. It would be so much fun to work with my hands and create such delights of light and shape by breaking pieces of glass into refined art.

Instead I can only imagine the joy of this and surf the internet instead to find such art as this below.

Such beauty… such beauty.

thank you so much Mare – that is Leo major – all the stars in the constellation have their spectrums in dichroic glass and they are all lit with fibre optics so that even when you cant see the glass mosaic dome – you can still see the “stars” – great client – great job! soon after i got into living mosaics because, although i love the color etc… i wanted to work for life – all life : ) now i’m developing a modular system of 3D living tiles i call Habitile™ so I can share this vision with others – ultimately i want to go back into the mosaic work and combine the color with the life to create truly sacred places***

Gosh, I would love to learn more about what you are doing and how it is evolving. I am very much into Sacred Spaces and how they can be more sacred.
I’ll have to check out your work later tonight more further.
    thanks for swinging by…
    blessings, blessings,
    mare
