Protecting Our Environment – Love, not Loss – Video

It is when we love something that we want to protect it. This poignant video speaks to how to really change behavior — by awe and wonder, enhanced by understanding. Love, not loss.

From the video page: “This video presents a new biodiversity message. It challenges communicators to talk about nature in terms that people want to listen to. The IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) and the CBD Secretariat produced the video in partnership with CEC members in Wildscreen and Futerra.”

Thank you to Keith Wheeler for conceiving this video and stewarding it through its creation.

I love the essence of this video. If we are to change the direction of our future, it will not be through talking about the depressing facts of extinction, pollution, climate change, etc. But through fostering and evoking love of life, of nature, of wonder and awe. Only through this will do we have a chance to turn the tide. Beautiful, Mare.

  2. Thanks, Lisa…
Yes, yes, yes. This is one of the biggest messages with my soon-to-be published book. In Earth Mother’s words, no less! ;~)

My friend and former colleague Keith Wheeler put this out through the IUCN. Wonderful man.
