“My life belongs to the whole community and as long as I shall live, it is my privilege to do for it whatsoever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no ‘brief candle’ to me. It is rather a splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.”
– George Bernard Shaw, Brighton, England, 1909
Yes, this is how I live. Though I interpret ‘community’ to also signify the whole Earth community. The dolphins, the whales, the sunflowers. Even the weeds on the side of the road. They are all my community. I belong to them too. And serve them. I serve Earth Mother and the Great Mystery. It is very humbling work.
And I also serve my worms here in the worm condo in my house. And they are a bit unhappy with me since I’m not giving them the right combo of food and shredded paper. I can tell by the way they are all squirming on the very top of the bin, and sticking out of the spigot at the bottom. Sigh. I call myself a worm herder. They are herding me. And I need to hop-to! ;~)
hugs and blessings, blessings to all!

ps. I seek to not only work hard, but dance hard. Laugh loud. And get plenty of sleep too. ;~p
